Tokyo, Japan (November 17, 2008) – Morrison & Foerster LLP is pleased to announce that Tony Grundy will join the firm’s Tokyo office as a partner, expanding the firm’s global capital markets practice. Mr. Grundy has over 30 years of experience in capital markets, banking, structured finance and corporate recovery, and has advised a wide array of international investment banks and issuers.
Regarded as one of the leading English capital markets lawyers in Japan, Mr. Grundy has specific expertise in international debt, equity linked and equity offerings, as well as the adaptation of Euromarket products to Japan and other Asian markets. In addition, he has broad experience in international corporate refinancings and restructurings -- advising companies, lenders and trustees. Recent public transactions include a number of structured convertible and exchangeable bonds for Japanese issuers.

Mr. Grundy joins from Linklaters where he was the managing partner of the Tokyo office for many years. He received his B.A. in Jurisprudence from Wadham College, Oxford University. He is qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, and as a Solicitor in Hong King S.A.R and as a Gaikokuho Jimubengoshi in Japan.
